Off Grid Conference 2011

We have spent a lovely weekend in St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire on Off-grid Conference hosted by Rachel Shiamh at her wonderful straw bale house. We have met many people from different backgrounds but connected by one idea of off-grid living.

Cae Mabon – Autumn Working Party

I have come across Cae Mabon when was reading TAN 6 document “Planning for Sustainable Rural Communities” by Welsh Assembly Government. Here, on the page 24, point 4.15 “One Planet Development”, there is a picture of Cob Cottage of Cae Mabon, Llanberis as an example of Low Impact Development. http://wales.gov.uk/docs/desh/policy/100722tan6en.pdf

When I saw this lovely cob building picture in the official document, I thought “WOW! This is what I was looking for! The confirmation that natural building can be LEGALLY built :)
